PVscout was developed for Microsoft .NET Framework. In order to run .NET programs, an installation of .NET Framework is mandatory. In case you haven not installed .NET Framework, an actual version is available on the Microsoft website. Please choose at least version 4.0, which can be downloaded free of charge and is compatible to previous versions.

Your PVscout serial number is based on the following format:
Serial numbers purchased before 2018 have the following format:
When entering your serial number, please make sure, it begins with “PVscout”

Please pay attention to the use of small and capital letters!

If you use “copy & paste” for entering your serial number, ensure that no blank space is pasted at the end of the serial number.

During the activation you have to be connected to the internet.

In the demo version only the location "Munich" is activated. As soon as you activate the software, you can use the location update to download over 1,100 locations and plan your project.

Activate PVscout and carry out the locations update.

To start the PV storage sizing, a consumption must be entered in advance.
In the tab "Project" you will find the "Consumption" menu item.
Here you select a stored load profile in the dropdown menu "Use standard load profile" and enter the total consumption / year in kWh.
The desired degree of self-sufficiency or the own consumption rate can also be specified here.
You also have the option of importing an individual load profile. To do this, select "Use own imported load profile" from the drop-down menu. Now you can start a PV storage sizing.

Tab "Project" → "Consumption" select a load profile and enter the total consumption / year in kWh

In the tab "Inverter" → "device selection" area you can specify whether the calculation is to be started individually per roof area or across all roofs. This setting can be found below the inverter list in the "Sizing limits" section.

Button "Sizing limits" → Check the box "Circuit design independent of roof".

In the tab "Project" you will find the "Consumption" menu item. Select "Use own imported load profile". You can either upload your file directly or download a template which you fill with the corresponding data. Please note that the imported load profile must contain the data for a complete year.
Then import this file using the "Select load profile" button.

We always keep the legal feed-in remuneration up to date.

Yes, the low voltage directive or user regulation VDE-AR-N 4105 is transposed on PVscout.

Yes, there are already over 9.000 modules and over 1.000 inverters in PVscout. It is possible to add your own new modules and inverters at any time. Please use the input form in the menu. Edit → Database → PV modules / Inverter. Due to regular updates the current product data will always be provided to you

Yes, it does. So far, the mounting systems of Schletter, mp-tec, Renusol, Ernst Schweizer and Wagner Solar are included in the latest version. The planer receives comprehensive printouts as well as detailed bill of materials. After consulting the producer we will gladly add further systems.
